  I visited the Deer Park, NY location at the Tanger Outlets with my brother recently. We were greeted by a sales associate who welcomed us into the store. Another sales associated greeted us and asked us if we needed any assistance. My brother informed him that he was looking for a larger size in trousers and was told where we could find the size and also suggested going up a size based on his personal experience of purchasing the style we were looking at. We thanked him and my brother began to look for his size. Then the manager Kerri, who had watched us come into the store, came by and asked the same sales associate if he had helped us. He had replied yes but she still came over and asked if she could help. We said we were ok but she insisted on getting the size for my brother.
  
  Now, I've worked in retail for 8+ years and even held a manager position in a department store as well. I know in an effort to provide great customer service, sales associates should help customers find the size they are looking for. It was the behavior Kerri then displayed that alarmed me and was something I have never experienced in a store.
  
  Kerri asked my brother what size he was looking for and when my brother replied size 46, Kerri laughed and quickly said no. My brother looked at her a little taken aback and then Kerri asked again this time stating "You said 46?" My brother replied with yes and Kerri shook her head quickly, replied "yeah, no" and laughed again. I replied "Wow, that was harsh and inappropriate" and was met with another smile from Kerri. We quickly left the store, feeling unwelcome and well, very embarrassed.
  
  While my brother is no small guy, that is no way to treat a customer. Now we know that the size is available online via the Brooks Brothers website but we were hoping to try a few in the store. She humiliated him in front of the other sales associates and customers and saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. We had money and were eager to spend some in this location.
  
  I won't be returning to this store any time soon.

  As an African American man, its hard to get good service at upper scale stores like this. Although my experience at this store was wonderful. I was greeted and informed of the best sales available for the day. I was even given a discount on my merchandise because their system was slow and the payment process took more time than it should have.
